History

Linda Romano Cassagnes was born in 1915 in Venice, Italy.

At the age of thirteen She emigrated to Argentina fleeing the fascist regime and established with her family in General Pico, La Pampa.

From 1960 to 1970, she studied painting and drawing with important artists such as Demetrio Urruchúa, Antonio Chiavetti and Besares Soraire in Buenos Aires.

She has made exhibitions in Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Córdoba, Entre Ríos, Spain, among which one can highlight “Current Panorama of Argentine Painting” (Museum of Modern Art Buenos Aires – 1973), and “Images dantescas” (Instituto Italiano di Cultura, Buenos Aires – 1984).

Her works integrate art collections in Canada, the United States, Spain, France, Italy, Uruguay, and Brazil.

The merit to her high artistic criteria has been called to integrate various juries in competitions, competitions, and exhibitions.

In several editions of the “Correo del Arte” her works are accompanied by praising commentaries made by art critics such as Oscar Félix Haedo, Basia Kuperman and Armando Forteza.

At the age of 107, Linda continues to be present in her paintings, experiences and projects so, during 2018, She was recognized as the CULTURAL AMBASSADOR OF FECOBA IN THE WORLD by the Federation of Trade and Industry of the City of Buenos Aires in recognition of being THE LONGEST-RUNNING PLASTIC ARTIST IN THE WORLD.

Later the Fernández Blanco Museum exhibited her work so that all lovers of painting could know it and enjoy it.

Then it was the Buenos Aires Legislature, who named her OUTSTANDING PERSONALITY OF THE CULTURE OF THE AUTONOMOUS CITY OF BUENOS AIRES by exhibiting her work in the Salón San Martín and concluding in 2018 was the Argentine National Government who honors her with a recognition to her person and to her work by exhibiting in the Museum of La Casa Rosada.

In 2019, she opened the doors of Private Galleries for his works like Adriana Budich Gallery, of Museums of the size of Benito Quinquela Martín and a participation in the collective exhibition Map of Art BA.

The pandemic and 2020 allowed her to reinvent her exposures through virtual samples such as Mujeres Infinitas V.

Linda spends time and distance through her hand and her creations, and from her humble atelier in Mataderos, Buenos Aires, she continues to fascinate art lovers.
